What are some effects of teen sexuality?
Being sexually active as a teenager can have serious consequences for both partners. It can also effect the people who are closest to you, or people in your immediate family. An example of this is given in Teenage Sexuality by Myra Immell. It was found that the "teen sons of adolescent mothers are 2.7 times more likely to land in prison" than sons of mothers who were not pregnant until after the age of 20. Another significant effect is that a large number of teens who are becoming parents, end up dropping out of high school. "Only about three of 10 adolescent mothers earn a high school diploma by the age of 30". In today's society, to earn a descent or comfortable salary, you really should have at least a degree from a 4 year college. So, as you can very well imagine, someone without even a high school diploma will end up struggling to get by. Add a child, and it makes it a lot harder.
