A survey taken on Smartgirl.org, shows at what age girls believe it is right to engage in sex. About 11% of teenage girls believe it is acceptable to consent in sexual intercourse between the ages of 11 and 15. About 32.5% believe it is acceptable between the ages of 21 and 25. The majority, 46.3%, however, believe it is acceptable between the ages of 16 and 20. This is definately a large factor in the number of teen pregnancies in the United States per year. The media, celebrities and various teen idols, as well as many other aspects and ideas of modern, everyday life, have a significant impact on the way teens think and feel about sex.
